Come support this new fundraising event and cast your vote. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Central States Fairgrounds Fine Arts Building, with the event running from 6 to 8 p.m. If you don't know what a Giving Circle is, here's the lowdown: Each participant contributes $100, which lets them vote for one of three small, local non-profit organizations: Reservation Outreach, South Dakota Service Dogs, and Da Coda Instruments. Representatives from each group will give a short presentation on what their organization does and how they would use the money.At the end of the evening, the organization with the most votes will receive 80 percent of ALL money donated, with the other two organizations each receiving 10 percent.
There will be free live music during the event, which is open to the public. Food trucks and a cash bar will also be available.
